Why The

"Modern Minuteman"

Todays "Modern Minuteman", theoretically speaking, isn't much different from his ancestors from The American Revolutionary War! Everyday civilians, who have taken the time to be trained in weaponry, tactics, logistics, and military strategies and are ready to be called upon at a moments notice to help to protect their families, neighborhoods, communities, and way of life!

Minutemen were traditionally deployed as a rapid response force, complementing regulars. In a modern context, Minutemen could be utilized in a variety of capacities, functioning as long range recon units (a la Rogers' Rangers or LRRP's), hit and run skirmishers/guerrillas, neighborhood patrollers, Civilian Defense Force (CDF’s), or as a primary fighting force (depending on #s).

I believe the basic idea for today’s "Minutemen" is to first provide defense for our neighborhoods from looters, violent rioters/protestors, and gangs who are going to turn violent during the first week off a crisis or SHTF scenario, and to aid in identification and locations of trouble to LEOs ... If families in your neighborhood are trying to get out of town then local "Minutemen" would help provide assistance to those families as well as to each other’s families! Maybe if our relationship is good enough and trusted enough with local LE’s, then maybe the Minutemen help could be asked to help with keeping the peace during troubled times!

As far as fighting an invading army, while our military has been concerned with fighting overseas, we have been left extremely vulnerable here at home, Could a "Red Dawn" type scenario happen here? It's not that far fetched. Especially with current events unfolding in the world today. If it got so bad as to have to secure families in our own BOL, then it comes down to self preservation.

Third, Minutemen as a whole are protecting a way of life, the ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and preservation of the Republic and what it stands for!
